20:20, Dextra and Data Select win Nokia tender

20:20, Dextra and Data Select win Nokia tender - Mobile news

But manufacturer yet to decide on business distribution partner

Nokia today announced that it has appointed 20:20, Dextra and Data Select as its distribution partners.

The eagerly anticipated result of Nokia’s multi-million pound tender process will see 20:20 and Data Select looking after the manufacturer’s devices and services, with Data Select and Dextra also responsible for distributing Nokia’s accessories.

But Nokia said it will re-tender its business-to-business distribution agreement as the responses to date did not meet the elements required in the tender process.

Nokia sales director Mark Loughran said: ‘The process we have undertaken was about choosing the best partners and at this stage, we have not found the right partnership to service our business to business customers. We intend to re-tender immediately.’

Brightpoint, Brightstar, Fone Logistics, i2Mobile, Elite, 20:20, Dextra, Clockwork, Kondor, Data Select, Shebang and Westcom started competing for ‘Nokia Approved Partner’ status in May.

A Nokia spokesperson said that the distribution strategy review had been a key focus for Nokia over the last 12 months and the process undertaken had been ‘extremely thorough’.

Loughran said ‘We are building a distribution network for the future, capable of delivering both service and products to our traditional and non-traditional retail partners.

‘The consideration given to the changing nature of Nokia and our business and in particular our service offering has been fantastic by these companies and the quality of their response outstanding. Congratulations to them all.’
