Operators desperate to stake claim as lead mobile broadband network

3 and Vodafone’s continuing battle to dominate the mobile broadband market has intensified, with both operators announcing new promotions and price cuts for
June.

With diminishing airtime sales, Vodafone and 3 have been desperate to stake their claim as the leading network for mobile broadband.

3’s deal, which will initially be available in direct stores before being rolled out to dealers, will allow customers to purchase a dongle and 3GB of data validity for three months for £69.99.

A 12GB dongle valid for 12 months is priced at £149.99, and a 24GB dongle with a two-year expiry date will cost £249.99.

Meanwhile, Vodafone has reduced the cost of its 3.6Mbps modem from £99 to £49 on its 30-day contracts. The price of the modem is also down by 50% on all 12, 18 and 24-month contracts.
