Brightpoint to distribute devices to Latin America, Asia and Africa

Brightpoint and RIM have entered into a global master distribution agreement to supply smartphones to a number of global territories, including North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

The deal is aimed at helping to grow RIM’s presence in emerging markets such as Latin America and Africa.

Earlier this month Brightpoint, which recently acquired Hugh Symons Telecom, signed a deal for exclusive distribution rights of HTC handsets in the UK.

This latest agreement is not thought to affect the distribution rights of RIM products in the UK, which currently sit with 20:20 and Carphone Warehouse.
