Carphone looks to sell Nokia Comes With Music handset with 3 dongle

Carphone Warehouse has come up with an inventive way of bundling Nokia’s first Comes With Music phone, the 5310.

It will be the retailer’s biggest promotion in the run-up to Christmas, as the 2G handset will be sold with a 3 mobile broadband deal on contract and a free laptop to boost interest.

The 5310 offers unlimited music downloads for 12 months, which are not downloaded through the phone, but ‘sideloaded’ with a PC.

Carphone hopes that the package of a free laptop with unlimited music on the 5310 on prepay will entice customers to sign up.

Despite the suggestion that no operators would support the handset, three networks have agreed to let Carphone ‘Sim-pair’ their network with its big Christmas prepay handset.
