christopherh on Distributors hit by Middle East freeze     9/2/2010 3:51:53 PM
Hopefully with this report, Mobile Vendors will stop patting their Channel Managers on the back for business development and effort in the UK. Any monkey can ship products out of region with a price advantage, 1st to market advantage, and currency advantage!

Dave on Police calls on mobile industry to fight fraud     9/2/2010 9:54:57 AM
I kept a guy in my store waiting for half an hour once as I suspected him of fraud. He had a bt bill and credit card as id. I called the number on the bill and they had never heard of it. I called the police and told them the good news, kept the guy their for as long as I could. A pc showed up at the store 3 days later. Good to see fraud is a priority. Wouldnt have been to bad if the store wasnt in the centre of Cardiff, 5 minutes walk from the main station. So not really sure why the police are giving themselves a big pat on the back over this one.

It would be nice if the police would answer our emails about the dozens of fraudulently-obtained handsets we identify each month...Have never, not once, found a police force that gave a shit about the fact we had sufficient evidence related to ID theft, obtaining goods by deception, fraud to gain arrests if not convictions - and who knows what other activities are funded by this.
At A Loss on Police calls on mobile industry to fight fraud     9/1/2010 12:46:36 PM
Is this the same 'police' who have been doing everything they can for years NOT to investigate this type of fraud?

Unfair comments?? Unfair is the domino effect the actions of these people have had on others - for which the managers / business owners have absolutley no regard...the people we feel sorry for are the people who have lost their jobs and those customers who have lost money because of these underhand, self-centered, so-called 'business people'

John on O2 rises to its network challenge     8/26/2010 5:31:24 PM
Too late O2.
Was with O2 for 8 years. Only left a month ago.
Cannot believe the difference now I am on 3.
They dont lie when they say they have the best 3g network. Its fantastic.
I was with o2 for so long I had no other benchmark, nothing to compare them too, if I had known just how bad they really were I would have left years ago
Actually I dont know why I'm saying this, I want everyone to stay on o2 so I can keep the 150k/sec bandwitch I currently get in my house on the 3 network over 3g all to myself :-)

So yeah....o2's 3g network is AMAZING!!

Interesting to read of increased uptake in the handset market. Any thoughts of when complete difusion of smart phones will be mainstream?

If a CVA was spoken about then they're about as good as holding a gun to someone's head and saying "sign this or lose all your money"! Hardly fair whichever way you look at it. CVA or not there should be regulations to stop people engaging in similar business for a set period of time after the collapse of a company
Vodabod on Vodafone's UK CEO Guy Laurence on restoring the company to health     8/25/2010 1:41:06 PM
The "staff gym and a multi-use pavilion" were there long before Laurence and the general appearance of the HQ hasnt changed at all. I've no idea why he claims to have done all this.

Further more everyone that works in the new NOC has to wear a new cheap black uniform and are currenlty the laughing stock of the HQ. Its all very amusing.

I wonder if its warm on planet Laurence..?
