Dell has joined the race to bring cheaper mini-laptops to the market.
The company gave a sneak preview of its new notebook, Insipiron Mini, at the All Things Digital conference at the end of May.
The laptop is aimed at the more affordable mass market.
The demand for lower-end, more affordable laptops is likely to increase with the surge in mobile broadband sales, and the increasing trend to offer free laptops to go with dongles.
A spokesman for the company said: ‘Dell identifies that the market is evolving and getting the product right based on the targeted users is critical.
‘It’s a terrific mobile device that provides purpose-built computing power for those on the go.’
