Vodafone’s emerging market boss and former One2One executive, Paul Donovan, is leaving the business and is rumoured to be named as Arsenal’s new CEO.
Donovan is thought to be on a short list of two for the post along with Birmingham City’s Karen Brady. His departure from Vodafone appears to make him favourite to land the job, although he will not leave the operator until January 1st.
Donovan’s cause could be further helped by the fact that he is an avid Arsenal fan and a season ticket holder at the Emirates Stadium.
His departure from Vodafone followed a senior restructure from new CEO Vittorio Collao.
The Arsenal post has been vacant since Keith Edelman left in May, after he had successfully overseen Arsenal’s move from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium.
Donovan, 49, has over 15 years in the IT and telecommunications industries, and has worked at Apple, Mars Group and Coca-Cola.
