 Three senior staff exit in restructure as 20:20 and Dextra merge
20:20 Mobile has seen three major exits this week as UK Marketing director Graham Ellerton, the former Dextra director of product and marketing Neil Henderson and former Dextra sales director Richard Parry, all look set to leave the business.
Ellerton has been a veteran at 20:20, working closely with manufacturers, and has been responsible for building the distributor's dealer promotions and incentives, as well as the lucrative TalkTime magazine which the company sends to its channel partners.
Henderson had previously been accessories chief at Nokia, while Parry was a relatively recent senior recruit from Carphone's now defunct handset distribution business, Mobile Phone Express.
Henderson is understood to have been offered a new position within 20:20.
Parry and Ellerton are believed to be the most senior exits in the ongoing restructure of the distributor as it merged the 20:20 handset business with the Dextra Solutions accessories division.
20:20’s UK MD, James Browning, said: ‘Neil brought a great deal of experience and knowledge to his role and has played an important part in driving the Dextra business forward. I understand Neil’s decision to leave and wish him all the best.’
Henderson said: ‘I have enjoyed the last 2 years at Dextra and wish all there the very best for the future. I am looking forward to the next challenge.’
Browning said of Parry: ‘Richard has made a significant impact to the success of the Group over his time with us. He is an experienced and dedicated sales director and we wish him all the best for the future.’
Parry commented: ‘I have enjoyed my time with the group and leave to explore new opportunities. I wish all my former colleagues future success.’
20:20 CEO Meinie Oldersma is reshaping the company's structure to reflect the new three-year strategy he has put in place, and the feedback he has had from suppliers, particularly Nokia, which 20:20 successfully secured as an official distributor.
The changes were made as part of a streamlining process that has been on the cards since 20:20 and Dextra merged. Last week, 20:20 shut down the Mobile Phone Repair Centre (MPRC), affecting 140 jobs.
Former Dextra chief James Browning was made UK MD, while Trevor Price was made MD of the Middle East business.
