I think it’s that even as individual stores franchisees have a real impact. Our suggestions from meetings are taken on board and I’ve seen many of them enacted in under a week. I don’t think anywhere else can offer this. What advantages are there in owning a Fonehouse store over other mobile franchises? With Fonehouse you’re fully supported and it allows you to act quickly and confi dently so you can really make the most out of opportunities. For instance, with the help of the marketing team our store can develop and put in place new, locally relevant deals in under 24 hours. How has your store grown since opening in 2011? It has become even better as the company has progressed. The additional products and increased accessory range have- been a revelation for us. there are so many other revenue streams that have been made available. We’ve taken on a member of staff specifi cally for our business connections, which has become an important income source for us. There’s also the ability to sell additional services such as broadband, there’s refurbished phone sections and I’m really excited about the upcoming MVNO launch and what that can do for us. What are some of your personal highlights as a franchisee? Fonehouse nominating my store for franchisee of the year at the Mobile Industry Awards meant a lot to me, as did seeing my store on TV in BBC 2’s Phone Shop Idol. On a more day-to-day level, it’s seeing my staff grow as individuals and seeing the store grow with them. What would you say to others thinking of opening their own Fonehouse store? It’s like having a training suite in your pocket, because they always have help available. I’d tell them that Fonehouse will give the right framework, support and to do what works for them. What are your goals for 2016? In the short-term it’s maintaining our number one volume sales position internally, but we are also looking to expand our b2b services with VOIP. I’m also hoping to open my second Fonehouse store as well.
