‘Unified comms will be Daisy’s key focus’

‘Unified comms will be Daisy’s key focus’

Unified communications is certainly set to be Daisy’s key focus as we embark on 2011. Over the last 18 months the industry has been keeping a keen eye on the Group’s strategic acquisition trail, which has afforded us an expanding list of products and services suited to the converging marketplace.

And while there has been much talk about unified communications in the past, it is slowly becoming tangible through the likes of Vodafone’s One Net offer, which sees the merger of landline and mobile, and O2’s Joined Up Communications, embracing resellers who operate in the fixed line and IT space and who are also in the mobile arena.

Mobile will play a huge part in the unified communications process and we expect it to increase its share of
the telecoms marketplace as technology continues to evolve and progress this year.

We will witness the progressive evolution of the smartphone with more iPad alternatives appearing in the marketplace due to their ease of portability, always on access and ever growing variety of applications and services.

Just last month we introduced the Bayalink Liberty Key to our partners, adding an extra dimension to their business communications offering and enabling users to increase their mobile productivity by creating a link between their BlackBerry device and any portable or desktop PC.

We expect further such products to hit the market as the year progresses and as always, we will be looking for solutions which will help our partners to consolidate their relationship with customers by satisfying multiple communications requirements.

This year could prove very profitable for our partners, who can offer so much to the customer in terms of locality, customer service and the ever important personal touch.

Mobile was until recently very much a one dimensional arena, but as the landscape shifts, so does the mobile offering.

It is vital that we listen to the needs of our partners and their customers and offer them the solutions which meet these individual business needs.
