Finance director takes on role as distributor's new MD

20:20 Mobile Ireland has announced that Finance Director Fergus de Burca has taken over as managing director.

De Burca has been with 20:20 Mobile Ireland since February 2000 and replaces MD Rory O’Connor, who is leaving the business later this year to pursue other business interests.

20:20 Mobile Ireland claims to be the market leader for mobile handsets in the Irish market, as part of a joint venture with Vodafone.

Commenting on his appointment, Fergus de Burca said: ‘I’m delighted to have been asked to take the helm. This is an exciting time for the Irish business as we look to build our market share.

‘Clearly the economic backdrop in Ireland presents us with a challenging operating environment, but this is a strong and resilient business with a fantastic team of committed and experienced people to see us through.'
