Free Usher with W980

Vodafone
Vodafone is promoting its new deal with Sony Ericsson, where those who purchase the W980 will get the new album Here I Stand by R&B star Usher preloaded on the handset. The phone’s features are also designed to meet the needs of music fans, with shake control and direct music control keys. Vodafone has dedicated its store front to the promotion, with a full-size poster of Usher and the handset on display.

The operator is also promoting a contract deal of 600 minutes and unlimited texts, reduced from £35 to £30 per month.

O2
To coincide with the start of the football season for the FA Premier League big guns, O2 is continuing to push its promotion of selected Sony Ericsson handsets on a £35 tariff. The handsets are available with 600 minutes and unlimited texts, a free football shirt and six months’ free access to ‘24/7 football.’

Orange
Orange sticks to promoting handsets with offers for both the Samsung E250 Crystal Blue and the BlackBerry Curve 8320. The deals are available for £29.99 and £25 respectively. The BlackBerry offers unlimited texts and 200 minutes on the Dolphin tariff, with subtle window displays relating to its current ‘I am’ promotion.

And the rest…
Phones 4u is pushing the Nokia 6220 with three months’ voice-guided navigation following the manufacturer’s heavy advertising campaign for the Nokia Maps function. Along with the ‘treat yourself and save this summer’ promotion, which sees the retailer offering special prices across a range of handsets, it is also offering a free laptop, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii on various deals.

Carphone Warehouse is also offering a free Webbook laptop with mobile broadband for £25 per month or with a phone for £30 per month. Its
back-to-school promotion continues, as do deals on the Nokia N95 for £30 and deals on the iPhone.

T-Mobile is offering a free Nintendo Wii, which also includes a free phone with 1,000 minutes and unlimited texts. The operator’s ‘you won’t find more minutes for £30’ deal is being heavily promoted on window displays and in store.
