LG has unveiled its Windows Phone 7 Series compatible handset, at
the Engadget Show in the Times Center in New
York City on February 2.
It
was the first time Microsoft has displayed Windows
Phone 7 Series on a branded phone.
At the
Engadget Show, Aaron Woodman, director of Microsoft, introduced the key
features of the Windows Phone 7 Series and showcased an early prototype of a
Windows Phone 7 Series-compatible LG phone to show the Start screen, Bing
search engine and other multimedia options.
The phone
used at the show was designed to be the perfect match for Windows Phone 7
Series’ new features. Since creating a strategic alliance at Mobile World Congress
2009, LG and Microsoft have been working closely together to bring Windows Phones to the market while establishing
momentum in smartphones. A
lthough
details of LG’s first Windows Phone 7 Series handset have not yet been
finalised, LG is aiming to release its first device to market in the fourth
quarter of 2010.
