MP wants networks to share masts so customers can 'roam' in UK

AN MP has called for mobile operators to share masts so customers can ‘roam’ in the UK.

Conservative MP for Tunbridge Wells Greg Clark wants operators to switch customers to another network if they are unable to provide a strong enough signal.

Clark said: ‘Roaming and mast sharing would transform mobile phone coverage. Fewer phone conversations would be cut off, and fewer parts of the country would be in coverage blackspots.’

At present, a number of network share agreements exist, with 3 and T-Mobile sharing their masts as well as Orange and Vodafone. O2 does not have a network partner.
