Unanimis, the digital ad agency bought by Orange in August 2009, has promoted Alex Rahaman to the role of director of mobile and appointed a mobile team.
The move comes as the agency looks to significantly scale up its mobile ambitions.
Rahaman will be responsible for overseeing the entire mobile advertising business – including the exclusive contract to sell Orange mobile advertising. He will also sit on the IAB Mobile Leadership Council.
Rahaman has been operations and finance director at Unanimis since 2005. Prior to that, he was co-founder and COO of the mobile messaging business Sharpcards. He was also part of the founding team at Touch Clarity, which was later sold to Omniture.
As part of the expansion, Unanimis has made four other new appointments. Jason Barrett has been appointed as mobile agency sales director, Melina Gisler as mobile client service and product manager, Philip Agathangelou as senior mobile business development manager and Sharon Rattan as mobile agency account manager.
The new team will sell the Unanimis Mobile product portfolio, which includes premium display advertising on Orange World and other premium mobile sites, with a combined network reach of over 5 million mobile browsers.
They will also be pushing out the newly launched Orange Shots, the interactive SMS/MMS mobile advertising service with an initial section of the opted-in PAYG Monkey tariff base.
