Motorola is launching a phone with Google’s Android platform to challenge
T-Mobile and HTC’s G1 handset, according to reports.
The manufacturer is understood to be discussing the proposal with Google
and is planning a possible release date in around six months. The handset is expected to appeal to both business as well as consumer users.
Motorola is part of the Open Handset Alliance – a coalition set up to support the Android platform. Others in the group include LG and Samsung.
Google’s Android platform appears to have impressed so far, after a solid debut in the form of the G1 device.
