Napster grows mobile team with senior appointment

O2’s music service partner announces growth in annual results

Napster has grown its UK mobile team by appointing Dan Nash as senior marketing manager.

O2’s music download service partner announced the team expansion in its annual results, in which it recorded a 25% increase in PC-based subscriptions in the UK.

The report claimed its mobile music service to be ‘on the rise’ and said it was now ‘firmly established in the market’. However, no figures indicating the take up of the service were offered.

The ‘Napster on O2’ service, which was launched in March, currently offers users six million tracks. The service is available on the O2 active portal and is up against Nokia Music Store and Vodafone’s exclusive MusicStation programme, both of which launched in the latter stages of last year.
