Fixed-line telecoms provider Alpha Telecom has ceased trading and started a liquidation process, after customers had been complaining of a lack of service for more than a week.
On a note on the provider's website, it said: 'It is with great regret that the company Onyx Innovation UK Ltd trading as Alpha Telecom has ceased to trade and will shortly be put into liquidation. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused. Further information will be supplied in due course.'
Customers had been complaining about a lack of service from Alpha Telecom for some time and said they were unable to contact the company's customer service helpline. Alpha Telecom had previously said the business was experiencing 'technical difficulties' but assured customers these would be resolved promptly.
Alpha Telecom launched an MVNO called Alpha Mobile with Vodafone last August, targeting consumers with prepaid Sims and unlimited call time.
