Nokia has appointed former Travelocity and America Express executive as its VP for European marketing.
Mark Newton will join the manufacturer on 1 March. The company said he will be responsible for ensuring Nokia's regional marketing plan is implemented and will provide coaching and guidance to the regions it trades in. He will report to Charmaine Eggberry, global senior VP for marketplace activation.
Eggberry said: 'Mark brings significant international marketing experience to Nokia, so we are excited about his appointment and expect him to oversee an increase in our engagement with consumers and other stakeholders across Europe.'
Newton joins from Travelocity, where he was VP and chief marketing officer for lastminute.com. He formerly worked for American Express, where he had international responsibilities for online marketing and customer service.
