LG reveals L-Style handsets ahead of MWC

Metallic and slim handsets to hit Europe by the summer

LG has unveiled three new smartphones, with the first launching in Europe next month.

The L-Style branded devices will be on display at next week's Mobile World Congress (MWC). The manufacturer said it was going back to its roots and abandoning the more functional design of its recent phones. All of the L-Style devices will be slim and metallic, the company said.

The Optimus L3 will launch next month, with the L5 and L7 devices to follow in the first half of this year. Both devices will run Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The L5 will have a four-inch display and the L7 a 4.3-inch screen.

Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG mobile communications said: 'Design is consistently the top or second most important factor for customers when choosing a mobile phone. With smartphones, we sometimes took a more functional approach to design but with L-Style we’re going back to our roots as a company focused on how our products fit into the lifestyle of our customers.'
