ZTE unveils Mimosa X handset for MWC

Device will be targeted at those seeking high quality audio and video

ZTE has unveiled another handset it will showcase at Mobile World Congress (MWC), with the Mimosa X targeted at users wanting high quality audio and video.

The handset uses a Nvidia Tegra 2 mobile processor and will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It features a QHD (960x540-pixel) capacitive touch-screen, a five-megapixel auto-focus and flash camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. It's also the first phone to run the Icera 450 HSPA+ modem. The device will go on sale during the second quarter of this year.

He Shiyou, executive VP and head of ZTE's terminal division said: 'The Tegra processor and Icera modem will play an important part in the development of the mobile handset market, and ZTE has worked closely with Nvidia to develop the Mimosa X smartphone in time for launch at this major global telecoms industry event. We expect that the Tegra processor will have a big impact on the mainstream mobile communications world in the coming months and years.'
