Vodafone 4G HTC One customers hit by Sky Sports glitch

Vodafone’s 4G proposition has hit teething problems with HTC One users unable to access the Sky Sports entertainment package.

The operator’s customer forum page was littered with complaints as the Sky Sports Mobile TV add-on stopped working on a number of HTC One handsets loaded with the latest version of Android, 4.2.2. Although Vodafone only launched 4G yesterday, entertainment packages have been available since 12 August. Complaints go back as far as 13 August right up to the present day.

Certain customers have been experiencing problems for several days in a row. One customer, known as emberblue on the forum, said: ‘It's all very unfair. I have already missed the start of the football season, and quite honestly don't know where I stand regarding my subscription or tariff. All I know for sure is that I am now paying £9 more a month and not receiving anything new. Please sort this out...’

A Vodafone spokesman said: ‘We’re aware of that the Sky Sports Mobile TV app isn’t currently compatible with the HTC One running Android 4.2.2.  The fix has been identified and we’re expecting the app to be updated in the next few days. This only affects HTC One customers, but nonetheless, it’s not something we’ll be content to leave until it has been sorted out.’
