UK’s first 12 megapixel camera phone, Samsung Pixon12, hits shelves - Mobile news

Phones 4u first to stock device

The UK’s first 12 megapixel camera phone has hit shelves, with Phones 4u stocking the first batch of Samsung Pixon12 devices from last weekend.

The Pixon12 is free on 18-month Orange and Vodafone contracts at £45 per month, but customers can negotiate a cheaper deal if they trade in their old handsets.

The device has pipped the imminent Sony Ericsson ‘Satio’ to become the first 12 megapixel camera phone on the market. Samsung says the handset is geared towards taking quality pictures quickly, as it allows users to take a picture within two seconds of the previous snap.

The Pixon12 also has wi-fi and HSUPA internet capabilities.
