Billingsley shouldered the heavy responsibility of moving Orange beyond its ‘The future’s bright’ identity and devised a new one that polarised everyone, but was extremely creative: ‘I AM’. He is regarded as brave and commercial, spotting the need to give Orange an essential role in a customer’s community and social life to maintain relationships.Billingsley has since moved on to be CEO for ad agency Saatchi and Saatchi’s Asian business, but his pioneering of digital advertising has left a significant legacy at Orange and the industry at large.
