Power 50 Profile: Mark Loughran, general manager, Nokia UK
Nokia’s dull-sounding RFI (request for information) seems a long time ago, but was possibly the biggest ‘event’ in handset distribution for many years. Loughran was relatively new to his sales director role at Nokia, and went about rationalising the manufacturer’s direct distribution accounts, working closely with his previous boss Simon Ainslie and senior management in Finland. Loughran has taken a tough stance on exporting more recently, and has looked to distribution to take Nokia’s new services into new channels. Although he deals with operators and large retailers as well, his biggest mark so far has come in distribution.
