Overton says he wants to shake up the wholesale market, an ambition that is already starting to come to fruition. He has really driven Orange’s wholesale strategy this year by introducing Orange’s MVNE, Transatel, with the ambition to have 20 MVNOs signed to it before the end of the year. The network has added five MVNOs already this year, one being ethnic calling card company NowTel. Furthermore, Overton, who has been appointed as wholesale VP at Everything Everywhere, will use the operator’s newly merged network to attract more MVNOs in an aggressive strategy. Overton was also instrumental in setting up the network’s mobile advertising offering, Orange Shots, as well as its free music Monkey tariff using the technology from ad funded network Blyk.
