Antoniadis is spearheading the giant American electronics retailer move into the UK. Best Buy’s financial muscle and world purchasing power means it can sell products at very competitive prices. Its 50% share of Carphone Warehouse adds the mobile dimension and access to the UK firm’s local market savvy. Although it only has two stores open at the moment, Best Buy has very ambitious expanision plans and is already being seen as refreshing alternative, as well as a threat to Phones 4u and other UK electronic retailers. Antoniadis is seen as someone with a strong ability to lead and institute change and who will bring a new dimension to UK retailing. The key will be to ensure it is complimentary to Carphone Warehouse.
