Power 50 Profile: Andrew Monnery, chief strategy officer, Lebara Mobile
Lebara Mobile has gone from strength to strength this year, building on existing propositions through the development of new services and content. Monnery has played a key part in developing those new services. The MVNO reported a revenue increase of 105% in its last set of results, with many calling Lebara ‘a sleeping giant’. It has launched in several new markets this year including Germany and has bought a company in the Netherlands. It obviously has an aggressive strategy. Lebara’s web portal, which launched earlier this year, is the first of its kind in the ethnic MVNO market. Monnery was the one who kicked the strategy off, with the aim of creating stickier customers. His job will now be to establish the ethnic MNO as a real player in the telecoms market.
