Is Spotify the new iTunes? Probably not, but it is creating its own niche in the market through its online streaming service. Not only that, but mobile is increasingly becoming a key part of the music service’s strategy. Over the past year it has inked deals with 3 and manufacturers including Sony Ericsson, Nokia and INQ.  Söderström was director of portable solutions with direct responsibility for the mobile initiative – and is credited with implementing the strategy that led to operator and manufacturer deals. Without a doubt, Söderström has been successful in pushing the portable side of the service forward. He is now VP of products at Spotify and no doubt the push into portable availability will continue forward.
