Power 50 Profile: Mick Crosthwaite, MD, Bluebell Telecom
2011 Unified Comms
Bluebell owner and MD Mick Crosthwaite is orchestrating a concerted buy and build approach in the unified comms space which has seen the Newcastle-based company grow its turnover from £1m to £11m in five years. Crosthwaite has an eye for talent, having built up a strong leadership team which includes the recent appointment of Gamma Telecom founder Paul Banner as non-executive chairman to head up the company’s acquisition strategy. Crosthwaite has also secured strong financial backing from YFM Private Equity, Octopus Investments and NatWest to bolster the company’s acquisition strategy with a significant funding deal. Last October, Crosthwaite also masterminded the acquisition of Callstream to provide inbound call services – a strategic deal which has brought the company a strong blue chip customer base. More acquisitions are on the cards.
