Wu Sa, ZTE UK's director of device operations, makes no secret of his goal to establish the company as a key player in the UK market. The UK market is seen by ZTE as a vital staging post into the European and North American markets. To this end, Wu Sa has been leading a strong offensive into the UK market with concerted marketing of the Chinese handset manufacturer's devices. ZTE more than doubled its handset and mobile broadband sales in the UK last year, winning 60% of the UK’s mobile broadband market share and 8% of the UK’s handset market share, significantly outperforming the company’s targets for both. ZTE also launched its first own-branded smartphone last year, the ZTE Racer, which is showing steady sales. Under Wu Sa’s leadership, ZTE has also stormed the market with its second Android offering – the Orange San Francisco – which has become one of the network's top selling low-cost Android smartphones.
