Power 50 Profile: Chris Edwards, director of device management, Vodafone
Of all the operators, Vodafone has been the most consistent in using its purchasing power to shape what handset manufacturers bring to the market. In the UK, Edwards has been an important player in Vodafone’s drive to integrate services into handsets, and has prioritised 3G over 2G in his ranging decisions for the UK. Last year saw him take a step up in Jens Schulte-Bockum’s global terminals team, taking worldwide responsibility for the relationship with Sony Ericsson.
