Starting out with only an idea, Rob Lewis persuaded first the music industry then the mobile industry to change the way they approach music on mobiles. His product, MusicStation, based on a Napster-like track rental approach to music, has been a huge success. Lewis was close to a deal with Carphone Warehouse in the run-up to Christmas, which was looking to offer free music to its top contract customers, but Vodafone swooped in at the last minute, with no less than UK CEO Nick Read cutting a deal. An agreement with LG has also been reached.
