Samsung’s first Android phone delayed after O2 testing

Samsung’s first Android phone delayed after O2 testing - Mobile news

The Galaxy has never been given an official release date

The release date of Samsung’s first Android phone, the Galaxy, is still unknown after the device failed O2’s accreditation test.

O2 said the device was never given a release date, but it was widely expected by store staff to have been made available from this week.

However, staffers informed Mobile that the device was delayed after O2 testing found glitches.

An O2 spokesman said: ‘The Samsung Galaxy is currently going through O2’s customer experience test process and we expect to launch it in the next few weeks.’

The Galaxy is Samsung’s first Google Android phone and is exclusive to O2.

The device offers 8GB of internal storage, a five-megapixel camera, 3G connectivity with Wi-Fi and HSDPA of up to 7.2Mbps, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
