O2 staff that sold most Samsung handsets take on football legends

A football team made up of O2 store staff from around the country took on 11 football legends at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge last week, as part of a Samsung sales incentive.

The retail staff, who sold the most Samsung handsets in March to new or upgraded customers, lined up against a team including Gianluca Vialli, Matt Le Tissier, Tony Cottee, Chris Kamara, Lee Sharp, Rob Lee and Peter Bonetti.

The video cameras were out in force to see the former Premier League stars turn on the style, despite their bulging waistlines.

First-half goals from Le Tissier and Lee meant a spirited second-half performance from the O2 team wasn’t enough to prevent them slipping to a 5-3 defeat.

Had it not been for man-of-the-match goalkeeper Chris Brooke of the O2 store in Hastings, the O2 team, managed by former England player Ray Wilkins, would have suffered an even heavier defeat.
