Blyk increases advertising brands

Virtual operator adds to the number of brands advertising on its network

Ad-funded virtual operator Blyk has increased the number of brands advertising on its network from 44 to 117.

The MVNO remains secretive about the number of subscribers it has acquired since launching in September last year, but says it is well on its way to delivering its target of 100,000 ‘members’ within the first year.

Despite reports of media buyer concerns over the operator’s subscriber base, some advertisers, including STA Travel and government agency COI, have booked their second campaigns on Blyk. The network has delivered over 600 advertising campaigns to date.

Shaun Gregory, UK MD for Blyk, said: ‘There has been some advertising churn,’ but he added that only a few brands had
dropped out.
