Vodafone launches first embedded-Sim netbook

Vodafone launches first embedded-Sim netbook - Mobile news

Vodafone releases Dell Inspiron Mini

Vodafone and Dell have partnered to release the first netbook computer with built-in mobile broadband – the Dell Inspiron Mini.

The companies have partnered to launch several laptops with embedded Sims over the past few years, but this release is the first-ever netbook computer to have built-in mobile broadband.

The difference between laptops and netbooks is widely debated, but, generally, netbooks have lower specifications and are cheaper. They are also smaller in size, usually between seven and eight inches.

Vodafone is offering the Dell Inspiron Mini on 24-month contracts from £25 per month. The device has an 8.9-inch screen, Bluetooth, Windows XP and is Wi-Fi-enabled. The deal offers Vodafone mobile broadband through an embedded Sim.
