Vodafone staff distressed by dead badger on way to work

Vodafone staff distressed by dead badger on way to work - Mobile news

Council refuses to remove the animal

Vodafone International’s staff at Newbury were angered by the local council this morning, because it refused to remove a dead badger from the road leading to the Vodafone offices. The animal died on the central reservation of the dual-carriageway leading towards Vodafone HQ, a local paper reports.

West Berkshire Council told motorists it will not remove the animal’s body because it isn’t ‘cost effective’, according to Newbury Today.

One motorist, Hester Bateman told the paper she had called the council to inform them of the dead animal, but was told the council would only remove the carcass when the grass verge was next due to be trimmed.
