Tesco Mobile’s strong customer-led offering saw it win the award for Best MVNO. The panel felt that the breadth of the virtual network’s proposition stood out from the rest. The judges agreed that Tesco Mobile’s offering was of such strength that it was one of the few MVNOs that could actually challenge the major networks. The company also had the added differentiator of being the first MVNO to be able to offer 4G to its customers at no extra cost.
Price and marketing were two other areas where the company excelled. One of the comments from the judges was: ‘Tesco Mobile will go from strength to strength, it is performing very well in this market. Tesco Mobile has attracted a lot of customers because it offers great tariffs. It has spent more money on marketing than the other candidates, but the message is interesting and original.’
