Mobile Today readers: BlackBerry to make biggest b2b impact in 2014

BlackBerry is the manufacturer most likely to make an impact in the b2b sector in 2014 according to readers of Mobile Today.

For the past two weeks over 1,000 readers registered their opinion as the Canadian manufacturer powered through with a giant 62% of the vote, way in front of its nearest rival Nokia which came second with 25%.

Current UK b2b market leaders, Apple, only received 25% of the vote, while HTC, Samsung and Sony grabbed 8%, 1.5% and 0.5% of the vote respectively.

The result will be a welcome boost for the manufacturer. BlackBerry has endured a difficult 12 months but the poll reveals to some extent that there is still a thirst for its devices and sound security software solutions.

Commenting on the result, BlackBerry UK and Ireland senior director of enterprise account, Mike Gibson (pictured), told Mobile: ‘In a more security-conscious climate, businesses are seeking a multi-platform solution that safeguards their corporate information but still enables their employees to reap the productivity benefits that today’s feature-rich smartphones and tablets provide. Customer response has been strong, with nearly 33,000 new BES 10 servers installed in one year, including by 40% of the FTSE 100. With Windows Phone support planned, as well as unique new products such as the eBBM suite, we’re confident that BlackBerry will continue to best meet and anticipate businesses’ mobility needs through 2014 and beyond.’
