All about broadband

Carphone Warehouse
Carphone and O2 are looking to cross-sell mobile and fixed broadband with an attractive offer. Customers taking out O2 mobile broadband for £20 per month can get 12-months’ free O2 fixed-line broadband. There are three packages available; 8GB, 16GB and 20GB, and customers do not have to continue with the package once the 12-month deal expires. A phone line is required.
However, Carphone is also promoting the fact that it’s offering free internet in store…

3
3’s 15GB mobile broadband is now ‘half price’ at £15 on an 18-month contract. The Skypephone S2 is now in store and costs £69.99. The new E71 was introduced last week, but staff say that the device has not sold as well as expected.

Meanwhile, the Nokia 6220 is selling well on £20 deals. 3 has also introduced the L7770 – the first Samsung phone in its range.

O2
O2’s Simplicity packages are flying off the shelves in store, according to staff. The white 16GB iPhone is also now available.

O2 has returned to selling car kits for the first time in two years, which are proving popular, according to staff.

And the rest…
Vodafone is still focusing on its mobile broadband. Customers can now get a free 7.2Mbps USB modem stick − the 3GB version is £15 or get 5GB for £25. The network is also selling higher speed modems, but staff say these aren’t proving as popular because customers are less willing to commit to an 18-month contract. Vodafone is also offering a 30-day mobile broadband trial with its lowest speed modem of 3.6Mbps, and the operator now has the new Samsung Omnia in store.

Orange’s exclusive deal with the BlackBerry Bold is also proving fruitful, with the device already attracting large amounts of consumer interest.
