iPhone sales slow to 18,000 a week ahead of Googlephone and Storm

iPhone sales slow to 18,000 a week ahead of Googlephone and Storm - Mobile news

G1 Google phone and Blackberry Storm excitement causes sales to decrease

Sales of the iPhone are understood to be hovering between 20,000 and 18,000 per week, according to sources close to O2.

Decreasing interest in recent weeks has been attributed to excitement surrounding the G1 Google phone on T- Mobile, as well as BlackBerry’s first touch-screen handset, the Storm – both set to hit the high street in the coming weeks.

Sources close to O2 dismissed speculation that the operator would breathe life into prepay sales of the iPhone ahead of Christmas by cutting £50 off the price, bringing it to £299.
