The long-awaited white iPhone 4 is already selling out in stores just days after its worldwide release last Thursday (28 April).
UK high street retailers reported huge demand for the handset, which went on sale 10 months after its black counterpart due to manufacturing problems.
Retail staff told Mobile today that the white variant has boosted Apple’s iPhone sales even further as consumers scrambled to get their hands on the handset.
Many retailers also reported they have started to ‘stock share’ between their branches to combat low stock levels.
A Phones 4u spokeswoman said ‘The white iPhone 4 is doing really well. Obviously not as good as when the original iPhone 4 came out, but it is currently a best seller. The majority of the customers are teenagers and young adults. I definitely think it’s a trend item’
