Vodafone platinum partners 'excited' by channel restructure
Vodafone’s platinum partners have given Vodafone’s new channel programme their seal of approval.

The partners attended a conference this week, with Vodafone UK CEO Guy Laurence, enterprise director Peter Kelly and sales director of SME enterprise Rob Shardlow.

The conference for the platinum partners took place on Monday and Tuesday, with partners in the gold and silver tiers expected to be told later this week.

The platinum partners, who are the first in the new channel structure to be informed of Vodafone’s plans for the future, have reacted positively to the operator’s move, saying they are excited to be part of the new programme.

Phonebox Solutions sales and operations director Oliver Rowe said: ‘We are the only platinum [Vodafone] and principal [Orange] dealer in the UK. The new channel is a mix of the top Yes Telecom partners and direct partners. Vodafone has got a real hunger and they want to help us grow our business. The fact that Vodafone’s CEO attended shows how important they view these partners.’

Excalibur Communications MD James Phipps added: ‘The announcement is definitely a step in the right direction. Guy Laurence gave us an insight into how he sees the marketplace.’

Meanwhile, Sprint Communications MD Paul Leonard said: ‘I understand what Vodafone are trying to do. The rebranding of Yes Telecom will be helpful because it used to be quite hard to explain the relationship [between Yes Telecom and Vodafone] to customers. We are really pleased to be chosen and looking forward to get going with One Net.’

Veecom managing director Nick Gould added: ‘I am very excited to be part of the programme and looking forward to the future and convergence. I see it is an industry first and the things that come out it over the next few months will see each partner being treated as an individual.’
