Fonehouse diversifies to attract new partners
Fonehouse is confident it can double its number of partners over the next year by offering extra benefits and products.
The retailer is looking to ramp up its presence by adding consumer and business partners. Fonehouse will offer its retail partners live handset display units and a range of b2b products.
Fonehouse MD Clive Bayley told Mobile: ‘We want to have a bigger portfolio of products and a bigger customer base. The b2b space is quite important over the next three years. The networks are looking to have a quality service in b2b sales and unified comms.’
Fonehouse will also look at its prepay offers, and is hoping to put together a new package for Q2 next year as the networks continue to
push the product.
Partners who attended the conference saw presentations from T-Mobile, Vodafone, HTC, Samsung, RIM and Motorola and were given the opportunity to voice any concerns.
One of the main concerns raised by the partners was the lack of access to the iPhone, despite all the major networks and retailers now selling the product.
One partner said: ‘We are losing business everyday because we cannot sell the iPhone. I would say I am losing around 30% of my business because of it.’
However, both T-Mobile and Vodafone reassured partners that the iPhone was on the agenda, adding that Fonehouse is on the list of partners waiting for approval from Apple.
Fonehouse, which has worked with T-Mobile for over 10 years, secured
a deal to sell Vodafone contracts in 2008.
However, partners in the South East are still not selling as much Vodafone as their counterparts in other parts of the country.
In a bid to encourage partners to sell more Vodafone, the operator has launched an incentive in conjunction with HTC.
