Communicate Better in hosted telecoms rollout
The Communicate Better Group has completed the rollout of a £250,000 five year fixed line hosted telecoms contract with estate agent Gascoigne Halman, which it clinched in a cross-selling deal.

The Manchester-based firm, which was already providing the estate agent with a mobile solution, has completed the rollout of the hosted telecoms solution to the headquarters and 17 branches of Gascoigne Halman across the North West of England.

CEO Wayne Cartwright said the deal could open up further cross-selling opportunities. ‘We also look after Gascoigne Halman’s mobile account and we are now looking at IT solutions so that we can provide the fully converged voice, mobile, fixed line and IT service.’

Cartwright added: ‘That is our long-term strategy – to sell converged solutions. We are a one-stop shop providing voice, data and mobile solutions and that gives us the edge over our competition.’

The deal allows Gascoigne Halman to save on property costs. Cartwright said: ‘The company did not want their branches manned every day of the week so this gives them more flexibility to route calls to a manned office or through head office which acts as a switchboard.’

The contract also sees the estate agent’s line rental and maintenance charges consolidated and call rates slashed.

Communicate Better is standing firm in the face of the economic downturn, Cartwright said: ‘We are very optimistic. It is harder to find the opportunities but we just look that bit harder and we have also invested heavily in our website to generate leads.’

He added that the firm is also on a recruitment drive to hire sales staff.

Cartwright said Communicate Better will continue with its ‘Buy and Build’ strategy. The firm bought IT company Advanced Computer Systems in June as its third acquisition.

More acquisitions are in the pipeline. He said: ‘We are in talks with other potential acquisitions targets who can give us the reach across all areas.’
