Shebang is understood to have appointed former Brightstar Europe marketing director Tanny Price as MD of a new b2b division.
The move is part of a restructure at Shebang, which kicked off at the start of this month (January). The restructure will see the company's distribution, retail, b2b and software divisions split.
It is believed that the new b2b unit will be headed up by Price, and the retail unit by Shebang marketing director Julian Burton. Meanwhile, sales director Joe Bennett will head up the distribution side of the business. It is not known who will manage the software division.
Price will be responsible for Shebang’s ‘Purple Partnership’ franchise programme, which will open to dealers in February.
In June 2009, Mobile exclusively revealed that Price would join Brightstar’s UK business.
Price is credited with spearheading Brightstar’s advance into airtime to become a dominant force in UK distribution.
In October last year, Brightstar restructured its senior management team in a move that saw Price promoted to a European marketing role.
Price had joined distributor after a turbulent few months amid court battles with former employer Avenir over her role as head of distribution at Vodafone’s enterprise unit Yes Telecom, which abruptly ended after just four months.
Shebang has direct airtime contracts in place with Orange, T-Mobile Vodafone and Three.
