Daisy Distribution to start tiering partners
Daisy Distribution is to start tiering its dealer base in July under its recently launched Vodafone Partner Programme.
Working with Vodafone, Daisy Distribution will begin to review its dealers from next month before ranking them into either Gold or Silver tiers. The tiers will run in parallel to Vodafone’s own Partner Programme tiers.
Julian Parven, Daisy Distribution’s head of marketing, told Mobile: ‘We are just running through until the end of this quarter and then we will start tiering our dealers. We will be taking a view of the entire base – which includes potentially any dealer who connects Vodafone via Daisy Distribution.’
Parven said the criteria for entry into the two ranks had yet to be clarified and the process had no specific end date.
‘It will depend on how long the process takes,’ he added.
However, the criteria is expected to be heavily focused on dealers being willing and able to sell more unified comms solutions.
When the agreement was first announced in March, some dealers claimed Vodafone was grooming Daisy Distribution to take over its Gold and Silver partner tiers, allowing Vodafone Partner Services to concentrate on the Platinum tiered partners.
Parven dismissed the claims this week. He said: ‘As far as we are concerned, that is not on the table. We are simply working with our partners to improve the business.’
Parven said Daisy Distribution is continuing to expand its base of dealers, with the bulk coming from the fixed line and communications industry.
He said: ‘We find that a lot of new partners are fixed line and comms resellers looking to add mobile to the portfolio.’
He added that the move into the converged market was continuing apace. ‘It is becoming stronger all the time as there is a natural convergence in the channels driven by a desire to create stronger relationships with customers by offering more rounded products.’
