Savin Communications is launching an aggressive drive for growth, aiming to add another 200 customers and almost double connections to 10,000 by March 2013.
The move follows rapid growth last year which saw the business increase its customer base from 250 to 400 companies in 12 months.
Savin Communications MD Vinod Kakkar Zada said the company’s cost management solutions, which have driven down customers’ telecoms costs by 38% on average, and a major recruitment drive that saw staff numbers double were key drivers for growth.
More than 90% of Savin Communications’ 400 customers are based in the City of London and the capital’s West End, with 60% in hedge fund management, stockbroking, legal and advisory services. Many of them have significant travel costs.
Zada (pictured) said: ‘The key reason for our success is our cost management solutions, which help customers control their roaming and international spend. Many of our customers spend up to £7,000 per month on roaming alone, so cutting those costs is very important to them. More than 40 of our customers have reduced their spend by an average of £2,000 per month with our help.’
Customer ARPU is twice the industry rate at around £60 per month. Zada said: ‘We recently helped a customer bring down their ARPU from £130 to £70 per month… We do not go after volume, we go after quality business.’ The strategy appears to be working, bringing the company around 20-30 referrals a year from existing customers, said Zada.
Savin Communications is also continuing to recruit after doubling staff numbers in the service, telemarketing and new business divisions. It is currently seeking three business development managers.
Speaking about its future plans, Zada said the business will ‘aggressively target’ larger deals and continue to raise customer service and support levels. Savin Communications will also launch a renewed drive to sell Vodafone’s One Net solution to its customer base this year as part of wider plans to push into the fixed-line and IT markets. The company is an accredited One Net installer.
The majority of Savin’s customers connect to Vodafone, with the rest on O2. Last April, the company won Vodafone’s Silver Partner of the Year Award, becoming a Gold Partner shortly afterwards. Zada said: ‘We are very hopeful about winning the Gold Award this year. We are very close to becoming a Platinum Partner. We have already hit the connection targets and are very close to hitting the revenue target.’
