Vodafone platinum partner Excalibur Communications is on a recruitment drive with plans to take on 11 new sales and service staff.
The recruitment drive will fuel the company’s ambitions to double the size of the business over the next three years. The move follows the launch of a graduate recruitment scheme at Excalibur in partnership with sales recruitment, training and development firm Pareto Law. Under the partnership, Pareto Law will provide training to new recruits for the first 12 months after they join the dealer.
Excalibur is taking on four new relationship managers next month as well as a new service delivery manager to work with the company’s project managers. The Swindon-based dealer will also take on six solution sales managers over the next 12 months.
Speaking to Mobile, Excalibur MD James Phipps said it had employed Pareto Law because of the difficulty in finding the right people to help the business grow. Phipps also said the company is currently looking at two possible acquisition targets. ‘We are at due diligence stage... [and] it may lead to a deal or it may not.’
Phipps (pictured) said finding the right mobile dealer has proved difficult. He explained: ‘I would say less than 20 dealers in the market would meet our requirements. They need to be in the right place, with the right customers and to have done business in the right way. There is no point in buying a customer base if those customers have been alienated by the way they have been treated. We would rather pay more for a less productive business so long as they have been sold to in the right way.’
